This is an intensive one-day course designed for clinicians who would like more experience with managing pediatric trauma patients. We will provide hands-on training in critical pediatric trauma assessment and procedure skills. This will include pediatric specific airway management and pediatric trauma resuscitation procedures. Participants will also experience interactive sessions that focus on injury prevention techniques, pediatric burn management, use of ultrasound in pediatric trauma, and pediatric disaster triage. This course will culminate in a friendly Simulation Showdown competition that focuses on the crisis resource management skills needed to successfully manage a critically ill pediatric trauma patient. This course is designed for physicians, nurses, and pre-hospital providers.
