Jamie Sinton, MD
Dr. Sinton is a pediatric anesthesiologist at Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin, TX. She is a graduate of Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed anesthesia residency at Johns Hopkins, pediatric anesthesia fellowship at University of North Carolina, and pediatric cardiovascular anesthesia fellowship at Texas Children’s. She has moved from Cincinnati Children’s to continue her career at Dell Children’s.
She believes that we should look systematically at the autonomic pharmacology of agents we use every day for the safety of our vulnerable patients including those with Down Syndrome. She has completed an R21 for the study of autonomic nervous system involvement in the development of bradycardia during induction of general anesthesia with sevoflurane. Data from that effort led to quantification of developmental autonomic physiology in our perioperative patients. Next steps include using large-scale physiologic data to tie autonomic insights to renin-angiotensin phenotype and response perioperatively.
On a personal note, she enjoys a morning workout and a matcha to start her day.
