Dr. Walter is a professor of pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology.  He specializes in the care of children and teenagers with brain tumors and cancers including spinal cord tumors.  He participates in clinical research both with institutional research protocols and national/international research protocols.  He also directs the pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship training program, helping pediatricians complete fellowship training to learn how to become practicing pediatric hematology/oncology specialists.
