Siavash Gitifar

Siavash Gitifar is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Central Florida, specializing in biomechanical systems, prosthetic and orthotic device design, and human–machine interaction. He serves as a graduate research assistant at the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Device Laboratory (REAL Lab), where he investigates the development of novel ankle-foot prostheses and lower-limb orthoses. His work comprises the full spectrum of assistive device innovation, including mechanical design, experimental validation, computational modeling, machine learning, and control system integration. His research aims to enhance mobility, adaptability, and energy efficiency for individuals with lower-limb amputations and impairments, particularly under varying walking conditions and terrains.
