Dr. Melanie Hakar is a native of Colorado and received her medical degree from Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency training in Anatomic Pathology at Northwestern University, followed by Pediatric Pathology fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Neuropathology fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University. She is currently practicing pediatric pathology, autopsy pathology, and neuropathology at Oregon Health & Science University, where she joined the faculty in 2020. She is also the Medical Director of Autopsy. Her specific areas of interest include perinatal autopsy and developmental neuropathology.
