Jamie Elifritz, M.D.
Dr. Elifritz is a board-certified Radiologist with extensive expertise and an international reputation in forensic imaging. She received her medical degree from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, before completing her residency in radiology at the University of South Alabama, where she trained under the guidance of Dr. Gill Brogdon, recognized as the Father of Forensic Radiology. She further enhanced her skills through a specialized Musculoskeletal and Forensic Radiology Fellowship at the University of Maryland in partnership with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, and at the University of New Mexico with the Office of the Medical Examiner in Albuquerque.
Dr. Elifritz has significantly contributed to her field through her publications, including co-authoring the book "Child Abuse and its Mimics in Skin and Bone," along with multiple book chapters, including Developments in Postmortem Imaging for “Principles of Forensic Pathology” and contributions to the “Pathobiology of Human Disease: A Dynamic Encyclopedia of Disease Mechanisms."
An active member of the forensic community, Dr. Elifritz presents educational topics and research, moderates sessions, and conducts workshops at national and international conferences, including the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS), the National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME), and the International Society of Forensic Radiology and Imaging (ISFRI). She is currently a member of the ISFRI Board, Chair of the ISFRI Guidelines Working Group, and serves on the editorial board of the journal Forensic Imaging.
In her role as the Chief Medical Officer of Forensic Radiology Group, the first subspecialized forensic imaging group in the United States, Dr. Elifritz is dedicated to advancing forensic imaging education. She serves as the course developer, director, and primary presenter for the first forensic imaging in-person and online courses offered in the U.S.
