Matthew Boelig, MD, FACS, FAAP
Dr. Matthew Boelig is a board-certified pediatric general surgeon with a broad clinical practice and in interest in minimally invasive surgery, congenital anomalies, and surgical education. He is the Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Surgery Fellowship at NCHD and the Director of the Pediatric General Surgery Student Clerkship at NCHD. His clinical interests include minimal invasive thoracic surgery (particularly for the management of congenital pulmonary lesions), minimally invasive abdominal surgery, robotic surgery, fetal consultation for congenital anomalies, surgical management of congenital abdominal wall defects, ECMO, and neonatal surgery. Dr. Boelig is actively involved in research involving clinical outcomes as well as clinical pathway development. Dr. Boelig is an editorial board member for the Journal of Pediatric Surgery Case Reports, a member of the publications committee of the International Pediatric Endosurgery Group (IPEG), and an ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of Pediatric Surgery and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology MFM.
