Associate Administrator, Research

Responsible for clinical and basic science research operations in the Delaware Valley. Manages capital purchases and operational budget for 38 labs. Oversees clinical research operations and support functions.

 Assistant Practice Administrator for Ambulatory Care

Responsible for clinical support operations of the Ambulatory Care Center located at the A.I duPont Hospital for Children and 19 satellite locations throughout the tri-state region. Operations include clinical operations, registration, insurance verification and a central scheduling call center for a 270 physicians group practice.

• Responsible for JCAHO, state and federal regulatory compliance for the physician practice.
• Chaired the Electronic Medical Record Oversight Committee.
• Implemented a web-based portal for patient scheduling and another for referring physicians.

UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANNIA HEALTH SYSTEM, Philadelphia, PA

Director of Physician Integration                                                                           (1997 – 1999)

Directed and organized physician activities, clinical practices and monitored owned and affiliated primary care and specialty physician practices. Established and maintained an integrated reporting system for all ambulatory and inpatient activity for the four owned hospitals of the health system.  Strategically planned placement of UPHS specialists in the Delaware Valley.

• Developed a physician clinical productivity database for over 1200 physicians in the health system
• Developed a three state subspecialty physician network directory for 2280 physicians.
• Implemented a web site for sharing critical data between practices and administration.

Administrator, Penn Medicine at Radnor                                                              (1995 – 1997)

Planned and directed clinical and support operations for a 110,00 sq. ft. multi-specialty group academic practice including radiology, pharmacy and laboratory operations.  Operation included 158 physicians, 147 clinical and non-clinical support staff for 35 medical and surgical specialties

• Devised and implemented new registration process and staff training program
• Created a physician productivity monitoring system and tracking database.
• Planned, staffed and opened the largest freestanding clinical facility in the region on time and under budget.

Administrator, Presbyterian Multi-Specialty Group Practice                              (1994-1995)

Created and directed a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit physician group practice consisting of 65 specialists and 9 primary care physicians. Recruited new physicians negotiated physician and managed care contracts including capitation arrangements.

Administrator, Cardiovascular Services, Presbyterian Medical Center (1988 – 1994)

Administrator responsible for the all cardiac services including Cardiac Catheterization Labs, EPS Labs, Non-Invasive Imaging Labs, Heart Station, Cardiac Rehab Program, Cardiac Fellowship Program and Clinical Research Unit. Provided oversight of the Cardiac Database Program including 4 computer analysts.

• Started the Clinical Research Unit that included fulltime research nurses, research funded fellows, research techs and involved clinical trials, fully funded NIH research grants and a basic science research building. Member of the hospital IRB Committee.
• Developed the Heart Failure Program, recruited physician groups and created a marketing program.
• Planned and supervised the renovation of 60,000 sq. ft. basic science research building.

Responsible for management, personnel, purchasing, budgeting and clinical patient care for four Cardiac Catheterization Labs and one EPS Lab.  Planned and implemented an Outpatient Catheterization Lab.
