Dr. Gopalakrishnapillai lead the Cancer Stem Cell Laboratory at Nemours Children's Hospital. He completed his Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, postdoctoral research at the University of California, Los Angeles, before joining Nemours in 2012. His Current research focuses on developing novel targeted therapies for Down syndrome Myeloid Leukemia (DS-ML). He uses several strategies to develop disease models for DS-ML to understand disease biogenesis. Also actively engaged in characterizing the DS-ML stem cell population to specifically eradicate this population as a strategy to control disease relapse.
