Yalim Yalcin, MD
Dr. Yalim Yalcin graduated from Istanbul University School of Medicine in 1990. He trained in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology at North Shore University Hospital / Cornell University Medical College in Manhasset, N.Y. Dr. Yalcin is a member of The American Board of Pediatrics and board-certified in pediatric cardiology. He specializes in cardiac catheterization in congenital and structural heart disease, as well as interventional cardiac catheterization hybrid procedures and fetal interventions.
Research Activities
- Involved in development of a new sizing device to understand the size and shape of the holes in the heart to use the best fit, size and type of the device for closure in the cath lab without surgery
- Interested in the field of computer simulations of different types of interventional procedures and machine learning for better outcomes
Medical Interests
- Treatment of heart conditions without surgery in the catheterization lab
- Hybrid treatment of specific heart problems, working together with surgeons when possible with less invasive methods
