Deepika completed her Pediatric residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She did her fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. She has been a pediatric cardiologist at Nemours Children's Health Delaware, for over 13 years now. For the past 7 years, she has also served as the Medical Director of the Cardiac Inpatient Unit at the hospital.  In addition to congenital heart disease and echocardiography, she has a special interest in inflammatory conditions affecting the heart: such as Kawasaki disease, Rheumatic Fever and MIS-C. She is an active member of the International Kawasaki Disease Registry. She also has a very keen interest in Quality Improvement Processes and is involved in many such programs at the hospital.
