Laura Clary, MSN, RN, FNE-A/P, SANE-A, SANE-P
Laura Clary, is a Registered Nurse, Forensic Nurse Examiner and Program Director of the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) Sexual Assault Forensic Examination, Domestic Violence & Child Protection Program. She has been a Nurse for over 13 years. She is certified to care for patients across the lifespan that have been victims of sexual assault, child abuse, intimate partner violence and human trafficking. Mrs. Clary obtained National professional certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE-A) from the International Association of Forensic Nurses in 2013, and SANE-Pediatrics in 2022.
In addition to her work with patients in the hospital, community education and training is very important to her. Mrs. Clary lectures at high schools, colleges, and other organizations throughout Baltimore County on healthy relationships, boundaries, internet safety and the services offered at GBMC. She is a Maryland Board of Nursing approved Forensic Nurse Examiner Instructor and has taught and precepted registered nurses, physicians, social workers and law enforcement from all over the country. She is an active member of the International Association of Forensic Nurses, as well as the Maryland Child Abuse Medical Providers (CHAMP), Midwest Regional SANE Peer Review and is Chair of the Baltimore County Sexual Assault Response team, and partners with the Maryland Center for School Safety.
In May of 2017 she was nationally recognized for her work and was awarded the title of “America’s Most Amazing Nurse” by Prevention Magazine and The Dr's Television show, and additionally awarded Baltimore County’s Woman of the Year in 2018, and Daily Records Nurse of the Year in 2023.
