Jamila Richardson MSN, RN, IBCLC, is the Lactation Services Program Manager Lactation at Nemours Children's Health Delaware. She also manages the contracted WIC breastfeeding peer counselor program to provide free breastfeeding support and encouragement to WIC-eligible breastfeeding families with Nemours pediatric primary care offices throughout Delaware. With over 16 years of experience as a pediatric nurse, she realized the overwhelming importance of breastfeeding support for our most vulnerable patient population. Her experience as a bedside RN in the NICU allowed her to use her credentialing as an IBCLC to promote, support, and educate families and peers on the importance of breastfeeding and human milk nutrition.
