IPE-mergency Simulation | August 2024 (live)

August 14, 2024

Program Summary:

Critical care units rely on high functioning interprofessional teams to respond to clinical emergencies. Team skillsets can vary based on experience levels of members, patient conditions, and team makeup and thus, impact an emergency response. Additionally, when teams from collaborating units work together on unstable patients, a shared mental model may be missed. Join cross campus critical care team members in this engaging simulation series. Monthly scenarios, crafted for the critical care team, highlights effective teamwork and communication including, role clarity, closed loop communication, and shared mental model.

Learning Objectives:  At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • identify interprofessional role expectations during a clinical emergency.
  • demonstrate components of effective teamwork and communication (clear roles and responsibilities, closed loop communication, and shared mental model).
