Kevin Madden, MD
Dr. Madden is a graduate of Stanford University and earned his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ, in 2000. He completed his residency in General Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in 2003, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the same institution in 2010. He further specialized with a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, completed in 2014.
Currently, Dr. Madden serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Palliative, Rehabilitation, and Integrative Medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Board-certified in General Pediatrics, Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine, he has contributed significantly to the field, authoring over 20 peer-reviewed research studies and more than 10 book chapters. His research focuses on chronic pain management in children with cancer, the safe use of opioids, and parental attitudes toward opioid use for cancer-related pain in children.
