Gabriel Chain, M.B.B.S B.S.c
I attended University College London in 2010 where I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Immunology and a subsequent M.B.B.S medical degree. I began 2 years of clinical training in Edinburgh and London (UK) before relocating to the USA where I completed a pediatric residency at Saint Peter's University Hospital. I obtained full board certification in General Pediatrics and spent the following two years at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia as a general pediatric hospitalist in the inpatient and emergency departments. I maintained a strong commitment to Hospice and Palliative medicine throughout my career and am now a Hospice and Palliative medicine fellow at Nemours Children’s Hospital.
Alongside my clinical role, I have maintained a strong commitment to research and education. My prior works have included presenting at the recent AAP national conference; being awarded an AAP CATCH grant to improve access to healthcare with a focus on climate-based education; a focus on advocacy, for example leading a community health session on the risks to child health from vaping; participation in quality improvement and system error which included introducing a new electronic handoff tool for our hospitalist team and finally an involvement in teaching, for example helping to coordinate the medical and PA student rotation at Princeton Medical Center prior to fellowship. I have contributed to several peer-reviewed publications and have had experience presenting both posters and oral presentations at regional and national conferences.
