Dr. Fernando Galan is a pediatric epileptologist with Nemours Children’s Health in Jacksonville, Florida and academically is an assistant professor of neurology through the Mayo Clinic of Florida. He serves as the Medical Director of the Epilepsy Center, the Ketogenic Diet Program, and the Brunell Family Children’s Neuro-Diagnostic Center at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. He graduated medical school and completed a Child Neurology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. After residency, he completed two years of additional training in neurophysiology and the management of drug-resistant epilepsy including surgical options at Nicklaus Children's Hospital (Miami, Fl). He specializes in Epilepsy and is experienced in seizures and epilepsy, drug resistant epilepsy, epilepsy surgery, diet therapies for epilepsy, and management of rare genetic epilepsies.
