Dr. Thomas Koch earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego and then began training in Pediatrics at UCSD.  He moved to San Francisco for training in Pediatric Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco.  Since then, he has held faculty appointments at the University of California, San Francisco, University of Maryland, Baltimore, Endowed Chair appointment as Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at the Oregon Health and Science University, and currently holds a faculty appointment as Professor of Pediatric Neurology at the Medical University of South Carolina.  

Dr. Koch is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American Academy of Neurology and the Child Neurology Society.  He has served as a Past President of the AAP Section on Neurology.  He has been dedicated to medical education and has received numerous teaching awards and is a frequent invited speaker. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with special competence in Child Neurology.
