Dr. Strickler has over thirty years experience in emergency care and administration.  He is currently the hospital President of UNC Chatham and UNC Rockingham.  Previous roles within the UNC Health System was Chief Operating Officer, interim Chief Nursing Officer, and Director of Emergency Services.  He is an active adjunct faculty member for UNC School of Nursing, UNC School of Public Health and Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing.  He is a member of the Nursing 2026 editorial review board where he has served for a number of years.  He is the former President of the North Carolina Emergency Nurses Association and former board member of the Society of Trauma Nurses.  He has a doctorate in health administration, masters in applied organizational management and a BS in Nursing. He has worked as a stretcher side Emergency Department RN at a Level I Trauma Center, a paramedic for county EMS/ Rescue service, and led several trauma centers across Tennessee, Kansas and North Carolina.
