Weijen Chang, MD, FAAP, SFHM

Weijen Chang, MD is a board-certified internist, pediatrician, and pediatric hospitalist serving as Chief of the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, Florida. He is Editor-in-Chief of *The Hospitalist*, the official newsmagazine of the Society of Hospital Medicine, and a Senior Fellow in Hospital Medicine (SFHM).
Dr. Chang earned his BA from Johns Hopkins University and MD from New York Medical College (Alpha Omega Alpha), and completed a combined medicine-pediatrics residency at Duke University, which included training as a senior house officer at the University of Oxford. He holds additional training from the Harvard Medical School SQIL (Safety, Quality, Informatics, and Leadership) program and the UC San Diego CREST program in clinical research.
Prior to Nemours, he held leadership positions at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dartmouth-Hitchcock, UC San Diego, and Baystate Children's Hospital/UMass Chan, where he served as Division Chief, Vice-Chair of Clinical Affairs, and Interim Chair of Pediatrics. He is active in national leadership with both the Society of Hospital Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics, and serves on the Stanford PHM QuILT faculty.
His scholarly interests include quality improvement, patient safety, care transitions for medically complex children, and medical education.
