Brooke D. Vergales, MD, FAAP, is a Professor of Pediatrics at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and an attending neonatologist at Cohen Children’s Medical Center. Prior to joining Northwell in 2025, she spent 13 years at the University of Virginia, where she held several educational and clinical leadership roles, including Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program Director and Medical Director of Neonatal Remote Patient Monitoring. She currently serves as Chair of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Training Program Directors. Her academic interests include neonatal medical education, quality improvement, and innovative models of care that extend NICU care into the home, with a particular focus on remote patient monitoring and home nasogastric feeding programs
