Karin Cooney-Newton, MSN, RN, APRN, ACCNS-AG, CCRN
Karin Cooney-Newton, MSN, RN, APRN, ACCNS-AG, CCRN is a Pulmonary Clinical Nurse Specialist at Bayhealth Medical Center at both the Kent Campus in Dover, DE, and the Sussex Campus in Milford, DE. She is a BSN graduate of Widener University, and earned her Masters at Wesley College. Karin’s clinical expertise has been within critical care for 38 years. She is a member of AACN, former secretary for the regional Diamond State Chapter of AACN, NACNS, ANA, Delaware Nurses Association, and secretary for the Tau Beta Chapter of Sigma. Karin is co-author of Palliative Care and Population Management: Compassionate Extubation of the ICU Patient and the Use of the Respiratory Distress Observation Scale, which was published in February 2022 in the Palliative Care issue of Critical Care Nursing Clinics, Elsevier Publishing. She works as nursing adjunct faculty at Delaware Technical Community College and formally at Wesley College for 10 years. Karin is co-author of a chapter in Innovative Strategies in Teaching Nursing published by Springer April 2020.
