Rosemarie de Ridder, MD

Rosemarie de Ridder graduated in medicine in 2022 and has been working as a PhD candidate at the Department of Neonatology at the Emma Children’s Hospital, Amsterdam UMC, since September 2023. She conducts her research under the supervision of Dr. Wes Onland and Prof. Dr. Anton van Kaam at Amsterdam UMC, and Dr. Mariëlle Pijnenburg and Dr. Irwin Reiss at Erasmus MC. Her primary research focuses on the multicenter randomized controlled SOS-BPD trial, investigating higher versus lower oxygen saturation limits in children with bronchopulmonary dysplasia across 30 hospitals in the Netherlands. In addition, her doctoral research evaluates the impact of non-invasive respiratory strategies, including nasal high-flow therapy, less invasive surfactant administration, permissive hypercapnia, and hypoxic burden, on bronchopulmonary dysplasia and neonatal outcomes over time.
