Kristan Scott, MD
Kristan Scott, MD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Emory University School of Medicine, with a joint appointment in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Rollins School of Public Health.
Dr. Scott is a neonatologist and health services researcher whose work focuses on perinatal health policy and the drivers of disparities in maternal and infant morbidity and mortality. His research examines patterns of postpartum care access among birth parents of preterm infants and trends in newborn preventive care, including intramuscular vitamin K administration and its downstream consequences.
He completed postdoctoral training as a T32 Research Fellow at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and as a National Clinician Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Scott earned his MD from the Harvard Medical School. He completed his pediatric residency and served as chief resident in the Boston Combined Residency Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
