David Dickens, MD
Dr. Dickens joined Nemours Children’s Hospital Florida in March 2026 to help the pediatric blood and cancer program deliver world class care. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Oberlin College and his Medical Doctorate at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He completed his residency at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Dickens was the assistant medical director of the pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT program at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital for 17 years prior to becoming a clinical professor at the University of Iowa’s Stead Family Children’s Hospital as the Dance Marathon Endowed Chair in Pediatric Oncology, Clinical and Translational Research. Dr. Dickens has held numerous institutional and national leadership roles to support the needs of pediatric cancer patients and hopes to continue to collaborate strategically with national colleagues and organizations to further the needs of pediatric cancer patients and their families.
