Christina Herrero, MD

Christina Herrero, MD is a a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon that recently joined the Orthopaedic Department at Nemours Children’s Health. She graduated from Amherst College with a dual degree in Spanish and Political Science. Afterwards, she completed the accelerated medical school three year program at NYU and transitioned into their orthopaedic residency program. She finished her training at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Delaware as a pediatric orthopaedic fellow. Prior to returning to Nemours Children’s Health as faculty, she was on staff at RWJ Barnabas Health in Central Jersey where her practice focused on neuromuscular disease, medically complex patients, trauma, hip dysplasia and clubfoot. She is actively involved in the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America (POSNA), the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine(AACPDM), and the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society (RJOS). In addition to her clinical and research interests, she is invested in improving diversity initiatives and medical education in orthopaedics as she is one of the few Latinas in the field. In her spare time she loves to run and explore the outdoors with her husband, two sons, and dog.
