Kate Burke Blackburn, MSW- Kate is Director of Practice & Prevention at Nemours Children’s Health. Kate has spent her career promoting adolescent, community, and population health with an emphasis on authentic community leadership and voice. Her interest in health care’s movement toward addressing root causes of disparities as a mechanism to population health outcomes led her to join Nemours Children’s in 2014, where she is part of the National Office of Policy & Prevention. The National Office collaborates with partners across the country to spread and scale policies, programs and practices that create healthier environments in the places children live, learn and play—with a focus on strategies addressing non-medical determinants of health. Kate’s current portfolio includes work related to integrators in population health networks, hospitals as anchor institutions, and adolescent health literacy. Ms. Blackburn resides in the greater Philadelphia region.
