Vanessa Valente, DNP, APRN, CPNP-AC, is a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with the Pediatric Surgery and Trauma team at Nemours Children's Health, where she has practiced for nearly seven years. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she spent seven years as a staff nurse in pediatric cardiovascular intensive care and adult trauma/surgical intensive care.

Her professional interests include pediatric surgery, trauma care, patient and family education, and mentoring healthcare professionals. She is passionate about translating evidence into clinical practice and enjoys providing educational programs that support high-quality pediatric care.

Outside of work, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, as well as traveling to new places.
