FACULTY BIO: 

Melanie (Mel) Marshall is a Registered Nurse graduating from Beebe School of Nursing in 2002 and has worked as an ICU, ER and transport nurse, transitioning to a nurse instructor at Sussex Central High School. She currently works as a middle school nurse for a public school system in Georgetown DE.

            Mel has been a member of the Lewes Fire Department since 2010 and serves on several committees including Co-Chair for the Sussex chapter of Safe Kids Delaware, National Family Advisory Network representative for Emergency Medical Services for Children as well as Delaware EMSC, Board Member for the Delaware School Based Health Alliance , and the Lt. Governors Latino Community Leaders coalition. 

            She is an instructor for the Delaware State Fire School and enjoys educating on EMS subjects especially Pediatrics.  Mel holds certifications as a National Healthcare Disaster, is a Nationally Certified School Nurse and well as a National Registry Emergency Medical Technician. Melanie has an undergraduate degree in Nursing from the University of Delaware and Masters degree in Nursing Educational Leadership from Wilmington University.
