Dr. Elizabeth Hansen is a pediatric anesthesiologist at Seattle Children’s Hospital and an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Washington. She is devoted to sustainability in anesthesia and efforts to green the operating room as part of her commitment to environmental justice and equity. She chairs the Perioperative Green Team at Seattle Children's Hospital and is an active member of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia Special Interest Group for Sustainability. She leads an international consortium of pediatric anesthesia groups in reducing emissions from inhaled anesthetics called Project SPRUCE.
