Dr. Marci Slayton is a three time UF Gator graduate.  She is a general pediatrician and worked in private practice for 17 years.  She then moved to pediatric urgent care, within the Shands pediatric emergency department in Gainesville and practiced in the ED setting for 12 years .  She started as a camp volunteer for Florida diabetes camp in the early 1990's and has been volunteering at Camp Boggy Creek since 2002.  She became the medical director at Camp Boggy Creek in the fall of 2024.  Dr. Slayton is married to a pediatric oncologist, Dr. Bill Slayton.  They have three adult children, 1 sweet elderly cat and 1 crazy dog.
