Katherine Daly, MA, PhD

As a scientist-practitioner, I am interested in psychological interventions that are applied to promote physical and psychological health and wellness in medical learners and healthcare professionals. My research background has focused on a few primary areas 1) psychotherapy research with adult clients with insecure attachment and family of origin concerns, and more specifically how attachment influences our relationships and health; 2) using psychological interventions to promote health and wellness and improve physical health outcomes (i.e., outcomes commonly associated with type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity); and 3) applying health promotion and wellness interventions to medical students and healthcare professionals by increasing accessibility, reducing stigma, and engaging the community in dialogue and awareness about mental health and wellness (topics such as sleep, lifestyle medicine, suicide prevention, and burnout). My clinical approach is informed by training and experiences working with adults in integrated health settings and community practice health settings. I draw from cognitive-behavioral, client-centered, and existential theoretical frameworks in my clinical work.
