Dr. Smith is the Executive Director of the Delaware Academy of Medicine/Delaware Public Health Association. She has led research projects on foreign and domestic immunization practices, the role of women and sexism in American society, and the use of advance directives in Delaware.  Her degrees in medicine and public health allow her a unique perspective on issues in the healthcare system, and her dual citizenship adds an international perspective, allowing her to act in ways that truly benefit citizens and society. Dr. Smith oversees the Immunization Coalition of Delaware and the Delaware Chronic Disease Collaborative, as well as other Academy/DPHA programs and projects. She coordinates the Academy/DPHA’s student internship program, and is the publisher of the Delaware Journal of Public Health.
