Susan Hendrich brings 20 years of leadership development expertise to Nemours Children’s Health, cultivating high-performing teams with transformational innovation in a culture of belonging. She unlocks individual, team, and organizational strengths to co-create vision and execute success.

Susan recently guided AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals' Commercial Capabilities team to global recognition as a high-impact coaching culture. Throughout her journey, Susan led strategic transformation in renowned organizations, including the Academy of Natural Sciences, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Delaware Art Museum, GlaxoSmithKline, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, Pew Charitable Trusts, and The Smithsonian Institution – National Museum of Natural History. She taught Leadership, Management, and Learning Strategies at several universities, and facilitated hundreds of workshops for corporate, non-profit, and military teams around the globe.

Susan served as clinical supervisor and faculty coordinator for the United States’ oldest APA-approved psychology training consortium. As State Training Director for Children’s Mental Health in Kansas, she led the state’s largest mental health center to national Center of Excellence recognition and was an invited speaker at the World Congress on Mental Health.

Earning a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Penn State University and master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Florida Institute of Technology, Susan completed her internship, residency, and post-doctoral training at Wichita State University and the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

Proud to be back in her Wilmington hometown with her husband Tom, Susan hosts the DETV children’s television program, Human Being with Dr. Susan. She enjoys travel, photography, painting, genealogy, and outdoor adventures with family and friends.

Susan’s motto is Ganbatte kudasai, which is Japanese for “Always try your best.”
