Julie Moldenhauer, MD

Dr. Julie Moldenhauer is the Executive Director of the Nemours Institute for Maternal Fetal Health. She completed medical school, residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a combined Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship & Medical Genetics residency all at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center. She is a proud Michigander. Dr. Moldenhauer holds board certifications in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Medical Genetics. After training she joined the MFM Division at the University of Chicago, then transitioned to the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where she served as the Director of Reproductive Genetics and the Maternal Serum Screening Lab. She then spent 16 years at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in the Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment where she held many leadership roles including the George Leib Harrison Endowed Chair in Fetal Therapy, Director of Obstetrical Services, and Medical Director of the Special Delivery Unit. Her area of expertise includes prenatal diagnosis, fetal intervention and management of pregnancies affected by fetal anomalies and genetic conditions. Dr. Moldenhauer's research parallels her clinical interests. She focuses on the impact of fetal disorders and surgical interventions on maternal outcomes, particularly the implications on mental health and subsequent pregnancies. Dr. Moldenhauer is also Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C).
