Understanding Minds: Navigating Mental and Behavioral Health
"Understanding Minds: Navigating Mental and Behavioral Health" is a one-hour session designed to equip school nurses withwith up-to-date knowledge and practical strategies for supporting students facing mental and behavioral health challenges. Led by a pediatric psychologist with expertise in School-Based Behavioral Health, this session bridges clinical insight with real-world school scenarios. Participants will gain tools to recognize, respond to, and collaborate effectively in managing student mental health needs.
Target Audience
Nurses, Academic Professionals and others working with children in community settings as well as those interested in the session topics
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity participants will be able to:
- Discuss the latest evidence-based research and advancements in pediatric mental and behavioral health, applying the most current knowledge and practices in their care for students.
- Identify key pediatric mental and behavioral health issues and best practices, addressing the unique needs and challenges faced by school nurses.
- Apply health measures, empowering them to proactively address pediatric mental and behavioral health conditions within the school setting.
