I have been a member of the healthcare industry for nearly 30 years.  Early in my career, I worked as a certified pharmacy technician in Northeast Ohio.  In 2010 I graduated from Lorain County Community College with my ADN.  I went on to work in Emergency Medicine as a registered nurse where I found my passion for pediatrics. 

In 2012 I joined the team at Cleveland Clinic in the Pediatric Emergency Department.  This is where I found my love of leadership.  While at the Cleveland Clinic, I graduated from Notre Dame College of Ohio with my BSN, became a certified pediatric nurse, accepted the position as assistant nurse manager of the pediatric ED and graduated from the University of Arizona with my MSN. 

In April of 2020, I accepted the position as manager of pediatric emergency services at UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.  I worked collaboratively with senior leaders to improve pediatric readiness throughout our community hospitals, improve our trauma informed care program and increase safety for our patients with mental health needs.  

In July of 2022, I took my skills to Charleston, SC where I joined the team at the Medical University of South Carolina as the nurse manager of acute care.  With this group, we worked to improve staffing (closing our 30% nursing vacancy within 1 year), building a program for pediatric inpatient rehab and improving several KPIs.  While at MUSC, I also became a certified nurse leader through the ANCC.  

In August of 2024, I joined the team at Nemours Children's Health in Jacksonville, FL where I am currently serving as the nurse manager of orthopedics in our specialty clinic.  Since joining this team, I have completed formal Just Culture training through the Just Culture Company and completed Lean training through Villanova.  In March of 2025, I will complete my leadership fellowship with the Amy V. Cockcroft Fellowship through the University of South Carolina.  

I have seen the impact of Schwartz Rounds in my previous practice, and I look forward to helping stand this up in the ambulatory space here in Jacksonville.
