Mary Catherine Swanson, CCC-SLP/CCC-A
Catherine Swanson is currently the coordinator of the 22q Clinic with the Synder Family Cleft & Craniofacial Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Previously, she was Coordinator of Communication Sciences at Nemours Children’s Clinic-Jacksonville where she served on the cochlear implant, feeding, and cleft/craniofacial teams. As part of the feeding/swallowing team, she performed Modified Barium Swallow Studies and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing while participating in Velopharyngeal Insufficiency (VPI) evaluations. She certified in both speech language pathology and audiology from ASHA and is a board-certified audiologist with the American Board of Audiology as well as the State of Florida as a pediatric audiologist with Children’s Medical Services. She was instrumental in the implementation of Newborn Hearing Screening Protocols with Children's Medical Services, a Division of the Florida Department of Health, across the State of Florida. Ms. Swanson continues as an adjunct faculty to the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. Additionally, she has been adjunct faculty with University of North Florida and Jacksonville University. For over 40 years, Ms. Swanson has provided assessment and intervention for individuals with communication challenges and hearing loss (of all ages.
