Karen Kist DNP, RN, CPN, is the Diversion Compliance Specialist with the pharmacy department at Nemours Children’s Health, Delaware Valley. She received her master’s degree in Science of Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice at Wilmington University. She has served in a variety of leadership capacities in her 24 years at Nemours Children’s Hospital. Her background includes working in various nursing clinical roles, nursing leadership, Continuous Improvement, and Pharmacy Support Services.

Karen was an integral team member in the development of her organization’s Controlled Substance Oversight Committee. The committee is the advisory group for the implementation of controlled substance education and drug diversion prevention at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware. Karen is also the coordinator and a member of the hospital’s Diversion Response Team. In addition, Karen is an active member of the Policy & Guidelines committee for the International Health Facility Diversion Association.
