Young entrepreneur, published author, poet, mentor and doctor are just a few words that describe Uzoamaka Odoemena, MD. Her first name meaning, the path is beautiful, has truly manifested itself academically, professionally, and socially. Her level of creativity and determination allowed her to publish her first book, "The Heart of a Child," at the age of sixteen which is currently sold worldwide. Her publication enabled her to participate in various speaking engagements, encouraging the youth to follow their dreams. Dr. Odoemena is a recipient of many awards, including the 2013 UNCF Merck Undergraduate Science Award Fellowship and 2014 Lincoln University Senior Woman Of the Year. She currently holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology from Lincoln University and Doctorate in Medicine from New York Medical College School of Medicine. Dr. Odoemena received her residency training in Anesthesiology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She is currently a fellow in pediatric anesthesiology at Nemours Children’s Health in Delaware. She resides in Delaware with her husband and two sons.
