Dawn joined Nemours Children's Health in December 2024 in a new role as the Director of Research Compliance. She brings her knowledge and expertise to establish an enterprise-wide research compliance program. She has 19 years of experience in healthcare, with 17 years focused on clinical research operations, research compliance, grant management, research finance, research revenue cycle, and auditing while playing a role in process improvement and education. Dr. Pittinger helped Moffitt Cancer Center achieve Best Practice Awards in 2022 and 2024 from the Health Ethics Trust for an enterprise Research Financial Compliance Program. She has a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in applied management. Her doctoral project, "A Clinical Research Patient-Centric Framework: Prevention and Reduction of Financial Toxicity Risk," was a top three finalist for Most Outstanding Applied Doctoral Project. She has an MBA in healthcare administration and is Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC), a Certified Compliance Professional (CCP), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), and a Certified Healthcare Auditor (CHA). Dr. Pittinger also holds a faculty associate position at Arizona State University, where she teaches master level students in the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation clinical research management and regulatory science programs.
