Marianne Buzby, MSN, CRNP-PC, PMHS
Marianne Buzby received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Delaware in 1981, and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in 1987. In 1998 she was awarded a Post-Master's Certificate in Teaching from the Teacher Education Program at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2023 she earned the Pediatric Mental Health Specialist Certificate through the Pediatric Nurse Certification Board (PNCB).
Ms. Buzby was a member of the nursing staff at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia from 1981 through 2022. Her clinical roles include pediatric general and cardiac surgery, primary care, gastroenterology and liver transplant, and endocrinology. She also served as a nursing supervisor, clinical program coordinator, and APP manager.
Ms. Buzby joined the Academic Support Staff faculty in the University of Pennsylvania Primary Care Pediatric Nurse practitioner program in 1988. Serving in a variety of roles, including lecturer, course coordinator, and associate program director, Ms. Buzby worked with students over 30 years to foster their cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills as they joined the pediatric nurse practitioner work force.
Ms. Buzby has authored many articles and book chapters. She has been an invited speaker at local and national professional nursing meetings. She has served in leadership positions in multiple professional organizations at the local and national level.
Ms. Buzby is passionate about working with children and families living with chronic health issues. In June 2022, she joined the Division of Developmental Medicine where she works with children and families with developmental and behavioral challenges.
