Scott L. Weiss MD MSCE FCCM is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Pathology, Anatomy, & Cell Biology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College/Thomas Jefferson University and Division Chief of Critical Care at Nemours Children's Health (Delaware). Dr. Weiss’ NIH-funded research focuses on epidemiology and mitochondrial dysfunction in pediatric sepsis, including risk factors, biomarkers, and mechanisms of sepsis-induced immune dysregulation and organ dysfunction. He is also the co-PI of a multicenter, multinational pragmatic randomized trial of balanced fluids versus saline for the resuscitation of pediatric septic shock and serves as the co-Vice Chair for the Pediatric Surviving Sepsis Campaign.
