Ali Mirza Onder, MD  -  Pediatric Nephrology

Dr. Onder is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Division of Pediatric Nephrology at Nemours Children’s Hospital. He is board certified in pediatric nephrology.  He went to medical school at Uludag University, Bursa, Turkey. He did a pediatric residency at Marmara University, Istanbul Turkey and then at Miami Children’s Hospital, Florida. He received his subspecialty training at University of Miami, Holtz Children’s Hospital, Florida.

Dr. Onder is a clinician and a clinical investigator evaluating and treating children with a wide variety of kidney problems at Nemours Children’s Hospital at Delaware. His research interests are prevention of acute kidney failure during cardio-pulmonary bypass, mechanisms of catheter-related bacteremia for dialysis patients and outcomes of permanent vascular access for pediatric hemodialysis patients. One of his career goals is to change the teaching of the kidneys in such a way that will replace the current fear of the topic to love and joy for this humble and glorious organ.

Dr. Onder is married to Songul Onder, MD an adult nephrologist / internist and they have twin daughters, Yagmur and Damla, both are juniors in college. You can pretty much guess their dinner conversations!
