Kelly Scanlan, CFRE

Kelly Scanlan is the Director of Development and Communications at the Latin American Community Center (LACC) located in Wilmington, Delaware. In her role she oversees all LACC fundraising and marketing efforts in support of the agency’s over 30 programs. Most recently, Kelly was a key member of the LACC capital campaign committee which led a $13 million education expansion project that created two new early learning centers for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old as well secured funding for additional agency infrastructure enhancements that will take place in 2024 and 2025.
Kelly graduated from the University of Delaware with an Honors Bachelors of Science in Human Services Administration and Family Policy and an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Culture. While a student at the University of Delaware, Kelly interned with the LACC Youth Achievement Center. During her time with the program, Kelly was able to help students as they both navigated the Delaware school choice and charter/private school application process for high school as well as the college and scholarship application process. This ignited her passion for working towards educational equity with a specific interest in post-secondary access and success. This passion came full circle in 2023, when Kelly was a member of the team that expanded the former LACC Hispanic Student Recognition Program to create the Minerva Marrero Hispanic Scholarship program which has provided $25,000 in scholarships to Hispanic high school seniors in both 2023 and 2024.
In addition to her degrees from the University of Delaware, Kelly has a certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from the Biden School of Public Policy, and earned her Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credential in 2023.
