This session enhances Emergency Department nursing competence by strengthening bedside practice, trauma/treatment room performance, and clinical decision-making. Emphasis is placed on applying evidence-based knowledge to support purposeful, patient-centered nursing care.

This session will receive education from the Nemours Children's Health Critical Care Transport team. Education in this session will highlight the role of a Critical Care Transport Nurse, prioritization of care when assuming responsibility of a critically ill patient, and the specific training mandated by the state of Florida for pediatric transport nurses.

Learners who attend this session will participate in a simulated exercise where participants are dispatched to retrieve a patient who has reports of severe respiratory illness. Throughout the simulation, participants will be challenged with scenarios that require critical thinking and reprioritization of care relevant to patient presentation.
