When Lightning Strikes

This presentation covers the basis for the etiology of lightning-mediated injuries; the approach to triage and treatment of victims who are struck by lightning as well as lightning injury prevention strategies.
Target Audience
Registered Nurses and clinicians caring for emergencies.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Recognize high-risk settings and situations associated with lightning strike
- Understand the principles of mass casualty triage and prioritizing patient care
- Discuss lightning injury prevention strategies.
