Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity participants will be able to:

  • Understand the current knowledge of sudden cardiac arrest in the young and know the current recommendations for screening.
  • Identify when appropriate to refer to preventive cardiology for lipid management
  • Discuss recommendations for lipid management according to the new 2026 lipid guidelines.
  • Recognize elevated risk factors for premature atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease beginning in childhood and review therapeutic options for lipid management.
