Review Dr. Poulos's trauma series lecture, originally presented live at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Orlando on 1/15/2025. This lecture provides an in-depth overview of pediatric blunt abdominal trauma, focusing on the mechanisms, types, and common causes of blunt abdominal trauma in children. Participants will learn to recognize and assess symptoms, ensuring timely and accurate diagnosis. The lecture will also cover evidence-based management and treatment strategies, equipping healthcare professionals with the knowledge to provide effective trauma care for pediatric patients.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of blunt abdominal trauma in pediatric patients and understand the importance of timely and accurate assessment to guide treatment decisions.
  • Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to discuss evidence-based management and treatment protocols for pediatric patients with blunt abdominal trauma.
