Material Specific Objectives
- 1. Familiarize the audience with the ALARA principle and selecting the best method available to minimize radiation exposure in pediatric patients
- 2. Understand the appropriate type and frequency of dental radiographs for pediatric patients, considering their age, dental development, clinical findings, medical and dental histories, and risk factors for dental caries
- 3. Justify the use of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) as an adjunct diagnostic tool when conventional radiographs are insufficient
- 4. Discuss how this policy can be included in caregiver education and making evidence-based practice recommendations
